Hiring Professional Writers To Write For Your
Ezine
Well, you've set up your Ezine, even got some free content to add to
it but you're thinking that you'd really like to get some content a
little better than what you found in the bargain basement of
contents-are-us.com. Well, you know the old saying, "You get what you
pay for." The truth is, if you really want some quality well written
content for your Ezine, unless you are a professional writer yourself,
you're going to have to pay for it. The question comes down to how
much you want to pay or are willing to pay. To answer that question,
we first have to answer the question of where to get professional
writers to write for your Ezine.
Ironically, it isn't all that hard to do. The number of people looking
to make or making money on the Internet are in the millions. Many of
these people are writers, or at least think they are. Just do an
Internet search engine search for "professional Ezine writers." One of
the first places you're going to find in your search is Elance.com.
This site has been around for a very long time. The basic concept is
simple. You either go there looking for a service or you go there to
promote your own service. If you're a writer, you would go there to
offer your services to write articles or whatever based on your area
of expertise. If you're an Ezine owner looking for writers, you'll go
there to do just that. Each writer will post a bid as to how much they
will charge for a writing assignment. You'll probably try to go for
the ones with the lowest bids. Just remember, you get what you pay
for. The lowest bids are probably the writers with the least amount of
experience, not to say they don't write well. They just don't have the
credentials yet. But the higher priced writers are probably your
better writers, though not always.
If Elance.com seems a little too complicated for you, there's
individual web sites you can search for and find that features one
writer. He'll probably have samples of his work on the site or will
offer to send you something so you can see how well he writes. At
least this way you can make an informed decision on hiring him. Most
of these writers will probably charge more than what you will find at
Elance and similar sites because he doesn't have to compete with other
bids. On the other hand, he's probably going to give you better
service because, unless his site gets a ton of traffic, he isn't as
swamped with work.
Regardless of which route you take, there are things you are going to
want to make sure you find out up front before you hire anyone.
For starters, you're going to want to find out exactly how much the
service is going to cost. Get this in writing if you can. If you're
going to request a number of articles, find out if there is a discount
for getting articles in bulk or if it's a set price per article no
matter how many you order.
The next thing you want to find out is how long it's going to take for
delivery for each article. Most writers will have a pretty good idea
of this because they know how much work they regularly get. Make sure
that you are okay with the time frame. If you need any article in 3
days and the writer says it's going to be two weeks, you may want to
look elsewhere. Also, find out if you need to pay in advance or if you
can pay after the articles are delivered.
Also, you want to find out how he expects payment to be made and how
you get delivery of the articles. If he only accepts credit card
payments and you don't have a credit card, you're going to have a
problem. Also, when getting your articles delivered, if by email, make
sure you give him an email address without spam filters, otherwise
there is a chance that you'll never get your articles.
Most professional writers will have all this spelled out on their site
already so you'll have no problems. However, some don't have a site
and just freelance. In those cases you're going to have to email them
and ask all the above questions.
By doing so you'll be avoiding any problems coming down the road.
